South Florida cities, like Fort Lauderdale and Miami have dozens of dive operations. There are dive shops all along the Atlantic Ocean coast to Jacksonville. On the Gulf of Mexico side, or the Bay as locals call it, there are nearly as many dive options, and a lot more shoreline all the way up to Pensacola.
Florida also is well known for diving in a variety of well developed, clear visibility, natural springs, mostly located in the north of the state. Divers from around the world visit these springs. Snorkeling and swimming tours with the manatee are popular.
